I personally would not use Royal Mail for anything significant. They failed to deliver my item when I used their “signed for” service recently.
There is very little that they do to remedy other than “investigate” and take 30 days to do so. They say they offer compensation,but it’s in stamps! I didn’t pay with stamps,I paid with cash and expect as a minimum a refund of my cash. I won’t hold my breath but they have caused huge inconvenience to put it politely. Their tracking is useless and so are they.
There are some very reasonable and reliable couriers that will do the job. Just make sure it’s insured, and photographed when securely packed.
