Welcome to Liphook
- Dave (17th Feb 2023  13:49:40)

If you are a recent arrival to our lovely village or are about to move here, this information may be helpful

We are close to military land, there will be gunfire and helicopter noise, sometimes at weekends, school holidays and the evenings.

We have a number of schools in the village so there will be a lot of traffic about during school run times and certain roads will be used as rat runs

We have a railway station so some commuters may park their cars outside your house. You may even hear the trains.

Fireworks are available all year round and as they are not illegal, some residents will let off fireworks to celebrate events. Old Thorns may even set some off as well.

Many residents have large gardens and will have bonfires, again, not illegal.

We have 3 mini roundabouts in the centre of the village, sometimes there may be some horn blowing and confusion. (see school run above)

All of the above are part and parcel of Liphook life and have been for many years. Many of us love it here regardless.

In recent years there has been a lot more Snowflakes seen in the village despite all the speculation about global warming and beef cattle farts!

Hi,
Not much of positive comments to welcome new residents.

What are the good things about our village and our beautiful surrounding areas?
Compared to some places in the South of England, we live in a good place.
Crime rate is 26% lower than the rest of South East overall.
Unemployment in Liphook is lower than the average in Hampshire.
Education locally including Bohunt, have gained higher grades than national average consistently year-on-year.

Add in good local clubs to join for all ages, a couple of decent pubs, what's not to like?

Hi,
Also 3 good local cafes, and our own Cinema!

Gr, you got it! Paul, you missed by a mile!

Yes tongue in cheek Dave, and I do understand.

Still good for new, or prospective residents, to know what our village offers from people that live here, and not estate agents blurb.
