Nurseries in Village
- Kaz (25th Jul 2022 21:15:24)
In my search for childcare I’ve noticed 2 new nurseries in the village - 1 at the Methodist church and the other in the village centre, does anyone know if the are opening soon? Not much info on their websites. Neither responding to emails or messages via websites.

I know that Ivy Mill in the square are planning on opening at the beginning of September. The manager is very busy getting it ready and there is lots of work being done on the inside. Hopefully you’ll receive a reply from the manager soon and they’ll be able to give you a bit more information.

Now up and running and accepting registrations.
Ivy Mill Day Nursery is having an open day on the 26th of November 10am-3pm. Everyone is welcome to come along, meet the team and have a look around the beautifully themed classrooms.

Whilst this may be a useful additional resource for some, just where is the parking that will support 56 babies, toddlers and small children being dropped off / picked up?
Not to mention staff who work in it.
Opening hours will create accidents waiting to happen,on the roundabout, and further congestion through the village.
I envisage absolute chaos at this already busy junction, which will be a high risk route.
Have the local planners lost their minds.
Registered for 56 with Ofsted, just imagine c.60+ extra vehicles all trying to access parking at 8 am / 6 pm somewhere close by.
Just ludicrous, if it wasn’t so serious and ill thought out.

Perhaps they have an agreement/contract with The Royal Anchor, for parking. That's what I would probably try to arrange, if I were the owner.

Thought the same what were the planning at EHDC thinking. Funny they refused planning for nursery at the old black fox because it was dangerous for access??? . But there you go the planner’s know best.

A slight exaggeration I feel!

Well it won’t support easy, traffic free routes through the village will it Paul !
Bet the planners don’t live in Liphook.
That’s a bad busy nasty junction already,if you use it already.
Many a time large trucks, van drivers et Al,do no indicate, and do not give way to traffic already on the roundabout.
It will be a catastrophe, whichever route they use to access the place.
Bonkers imho.

Interesting how "Mark" and "Susie" have the same writing style, no space after the comma. Exactly the same writing style as "Maz". Just an observation, that's all. Rude responses not necessary.

Even further exaggeration by Susie / D / whatever name you are using.

Interesting planning application for Oak Cottage made in 2021.
The application was for change of use to 3 dwelling houses, which obviously require substantially less parking, than a day nursery.
The application does not mention any changes to become a day nursery.
So my original comment re parking and access still stands, and Paul I guess you are one of the directors of the day nursery.
Turkeys voting for Xmas springs to mind here Paul.
If appears that anyone who doesn’t like a review on here ,is dismissive, of another opinion / writer.
Check out the facts before you look even more silly.
Looks like the planners were hood winked, imho.

(sound of slow clapping). Wow. Moved from gross exaggeration into (incorrect) speculation.
