Has anyone noticed there seems to be an increase in the number of deers locally, i have had two near misses in the last couple of weeks.

I think there has been a massive increase in the roe deer population over the last five years at least in this area. Where I used to see one or two on an evening walk on one of the local commons now I’ll easily see nearly ten.

The does are giving birth at the moment. Please be aware and don't let your dogs chase them. There's more of them around, but so many more of us in their woods over the past couple of years

It is also around this time of year that larger males are becoming territorial and chasing off the younger males which unfortunately means more road kill as they disperse.
