Convoy 2 Ukraine

Last week some friends and I around the UK got together to organise humanitarian aid to Ukraine. We found aircraft, but at £30-40k a pop, it was prohibitive.
We have now teamed up with Yorkshire Aid Convoy, with over 25 years’ experience and are leaving next week in convoy of 7vehicles carrying over £1m of medical supplies, tea, coffee and blankets.
Each truck costs just under £4k for the 7 day round trip, including; hire, fuel, ferry, tolls and insurance. All the team give freely of their time and money, but we sure could do with some help.
I know Yorkshire is not exactly local, but I could do with your support.

Quite right Paul, had WE not voted to leave under the influence of Putin it would all have been a bit easier to get through

Gentlemen, Thank you kindly for your replies to my thread. I'd rather have had a little encouragement or better yet a pledge to support the convoy delivering aid to Ukraine.

Hello yes you doing a good thing but don’t want you to get to port and you get stopped for not having correct paperwork due to brexit mate

Thank you. I genuinely appreciate your concern about paperwork. It is a real challenge.
Yorkshire Aid Convoy is organised by professional international drivers with decades of experience doing this, which is why I am more than happy to team-up.

Thank you Pauline and Helen for contributing and letting me know. It is nice to know my appeal has reached someone.
Thank you also to those who have done so silently. I do realise that charity may seen as something "behind the scenes".
With your help we have increased from 6 to 8 vehicles on this convoy and may be able to start planning a second.
My contacts in Ukraine are most grateful for your support and as Putin escalates the situation may only worsen so continued help will be needed, I have no doubt.
We leave on Friday. 2300 miles round trip. Keep your fingers crossed for a post-Brexit and Covid hassle free passage.

It is the least I can do.
I also offer thanks to Petersfield Post Office for providing my International Driving Licence at no cost and to the staff for pledging money.

People are really very kind. Restoring faith in humanity.

Are you actually off with the Yorkshire crew as I believe they depart today ? Just seen a departure photo on LinkedIn !
If so, ping me an email (I’m sure Editor will provide it) and I’ll introduce you to my cousin (RGS are suppling a van) ! You are in super safe hands with cuz as you will discover ! ;-)

Great to know there are other links with YAC here. Thanks for vote of confidence.
The world is a swiftly changing place, X-channel, fuel rationing and prices going up everywhere, Border issues. Not everyone supports Ukraine.
The next trip is being planned and we'll head out again.
